Walk from Bleriot Memorial. Explore unvisited areas of Dover Castle and learn more about its military history. This is a very enjoyable, informative but strenuous walk. Not suitable for children or dogs. Stout boots/shoes essential, walking poles helpful!

Walk from the Bleriot Memorial across the heights above Dover, then cross the valley to the hills above Kearsney to Alkham for lunch in a teashop or your own picnic. Return via lanes and tracks passing ancient St.Radigund’s Abbey and the River Dour.

Meet at the gates to Connaught Barracks, 100 yards up from Dover Castle Coach Park.This fort was built in the 1860s to defend the land to the north of Dover Castle. The walk will take you on a journey through the evolution of the site and explain how the Land Trust is seeking to conserve and develop it for the community.

CHANNEL TALES – A STORYTELLER’S PERSPECTIVE -LINEAR
Meet at the entrance to Deal Pier, walk across the cliffs to St. Margaret’s-at-Cliffe. Join local professional storyteller Roisin Murray and be entertained by tales of dastardly doings on this stretch of coast, from pre-history to today. Suitable for adults and accompanied children of 8 years and over. Picnic on the way then return by bus.

Meet in forecourt of Sandwich Guildhall. Walk to beautiful Sandwich Bay via Worth, the marshes and bird-watching area, then return to town via sand dunes and riverside.

THE WHITE CLIFFS COASTAL TRAIL AND SEA DEFENCES - DAY 3 DEAL
Meet at the entrance to Deal Pier. Delightful coastal and estuary walk finishing in the medieval town of Sandwich where Sandwich Festival will be in full progress. As we leave the sea-shore, with the help of a local guide we will explore part of the Sandwich tidal flood defence scheme, completed in 2015. Bring a snack lunch for our halfway stop. Bus and train services back to Deal.

WALK THROUGH A DOWNLAND NATURE RESERVE
Meet at Lydden Village Hall Car Park. (Go through pub car park, suggested donation for parking 50p). A splendid walk over the hills of the Lydden Temple Ewell National Nature Reserve, one of Europe's finest surviving chalk downlands. As you walk through this species rich habitat, you will also be treated to some glorious views.

Meet at Albany Place Car Park for a walk that retraces the 19th Century footsteps of two young women from Dover, who were the victims of one of the most notorious and widely reported crimes in Britain, following the end of the Crimean War. Our walk ends at The Valiant Sailor pub, Capel-le-Ferne. Bus service to return to Dover.

Readings and history along the way. Lunch in Goodnestone. At the end of the walk there is an option, for a modest fee, to visit the house, where a further reading is planned

Come and enjoy the ancient landscape, whilst learning more about its history and plant life from an extremely knowledgeable leader. Offering panoramic views across the hills of Dover and beyond. Bring a packed lunch to enjoy in a scenic spot.

Meet in front of Kearsney Abbey Café. We start with a tour of Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens to learn about the industrial and social history of the parks, the rare wildlife, and the restoration of both parks to their original designs. We then ascend through the woods for views of the Alkham Valley. Optional tea and cake at the Abbey Café afterwards.
